Supports NASA’s Agency wide Software Engineering Initiative issued by the Office of Chief Engineer to advance software engineering principles to effectively meet the scientific and technical objectives of NASA. NASA’s Office of the Chief Engineer, Chief Information Officer, and Office of Safety and Mission Assurance are joint sponsors of the NASA Software Engineering Initiative and similar efforts in other engineering disciplines, such as Systems Engineering. Objectives include: (1) Improve Software & Systems Engineering Capabilities, (2) Train Software & Systems Engineering Best Practices, and (3) Perform Process Improvement Appraisals/Audits.
